Many of you may not know that I offer wedding photography options to couples who choose to elope or are planning a much smaller intimate wedding, with 25 or fewer guests. Although some weekday and/or weekend dates may not be available, it never hurts to contact us to see if we have an opening.
You may have already selected a location for your ceremony such as a garden, local park, or your home, however we are more than happy to suggest venues or locations, interfaith ministers, and any other ideas such as flowers if you'd like to carry a bouquet or even a local bakery if you wanted to have a small cake or cupcakes. A really great local resource is elopetriad.com. Please tell them I sent you!
Some ideas to make your day special - select a location that may have special meaning to you as a couple. If you are buying your first home together, your patio, a gazebo, or garden may be the best place for your ceremony. If you have stayed at a B&B, Inn, or visited a local winery or brewery together, that may be the perfect setting. Was your first date a picnic or hike at a state park such as Hanging Rock State Park? For all NC State parks, check in with North Carolina State Parks for information, fees, and so forth. Keep in mind that venues, local city and county parks, or botanical gardens, you may need to obtain a permit and pay a fee so these are things to keep in mind and may take a day or two to obtain. Some places may want you to fill out a contract and pay a retainer. Its always best to check first.
Also another thought to make it special for you - the two of you may want to serve champagne or sparkling cider ready to toast and celebrate right after saying your vows. Or if you are having guests, you may want the same offered to them along with a few h'dourves. Another great idea is after your ceremony, go to your favorite restaurant for a romantic dinner together. Stay in a local inn for a couple of nights - make it special. I can recommend some great places too!
The three couples below either eloped or had a small, intimate wedding. I've photographed weddings anywhere from 5 {bride, groom, officiant, & 2 witnesses} on up to about 400 guests. Weddings can be as small & intimate as you'd like them to be, on up to a big celebration. Another idea is to elope and then have a big party later. Let it be about who you are as a couple.
