Bobby & Kelly recently celebrated their one-year anniversary on November 11th! Featuring their wedding here on the blog has been a long time coming. I remember their day as if it were yesterday. It was a beautiful but brisk fall day. We started off early that afternoon with Kelly and her bridesmaids getting ready in one of the classrooms at Redeemer School, where Kelly also teaches. The school is in the same location as their church, where they had their 5pm ceremony.
Although Bobby & Kelly chose not to do a first look, we were still able to take advantage of the beautiful light outside for photos of Kelly with her bridesmaids and then with her parents. Kelly was so stunning in her dress and I loved the white faux fur stole, which was part of Kelly's ensemble. And the flowers were absolutely gorgeous - so colorful. While I was photographing the women, Jenny was with Bobby and his groomsmen. Jenny came and helped me before and during the ceremony as my second photographer. And Erin was not only helpful with planning the wedding and coordination, she also was the second photographer at the reception and behind-the-scenes.
Erin has known the bride and her family for many years. In addition, she was also one of my photographer's assistants about 12 years ago before she moved to Minnesota. I'm so grateful, as Erin referred this sweet couple to me. Erin did an amazing job with both the photography and with keeping the day flowing. It was such a treat getting a chance to see and work with her again.
As for Bobby and Kelly, they truly were wonderful to spend time with! A few months before their wedding, I got together with them at Salem College and Old Salem for their engagement session, which was featured on my former blog here. We had such a blast during their session & they were up for anything. And I just knew they'd be the same at their wedding. The photos in which Erin, Jenny, and I captured during their wedding day truly show how happy and in love these two are with one another.
After their beautiful ceremony, the newlyweds departed for the reception in a limo, a surprise gift from Erin! Their reception was truly magical with all of the twinkling lights, vibrant flowers, gorgeous wedding cake, and the festive wedding decor. Ryan Shelton with Triad DJ & Events is always a pleasure to work with and he really put on a fun party. So many of their guests were out on the dance floor throughout the evening. The caterers outdid themselves too with a delicious spread. After a joyous evening of celebrating, Bobby and Kelly had a send-off with glow sticks!
