Joe and Beverly had planned to have their ceremony in the gardens at Burke Manor Inn, however Mother Nature had different ideas. A thunderstorm rolled in just before their late afternoon ceremony. Luckily the tented pavilion onsite provided shelter and they were able to exchange their vows under cover! It's always good to have a backup plan. Joe and Beverly were so happy to be marrying one another, the rain did not dampen their spirits. At the end of the day, that's all that really matters. And as the old saying goes, it's great luck when it rains on your wedding day!
Many close friends and family came together to make their day extra special. Beverly's daughter was her maid-of-honor and Joe's son, his best man. Beverly's sister is in horticulture and made the bouquets for the women and boutonnieres for the men. And their wedding cake was made by a dear friend. The innkeepers Lil and Lori were amazing too. From keeping Beverly and her daughter dry as they walked them from the house to the tent under umbrellas to the incredible food for the reception.
Luckily the storm passed over, the skies started to clear, and it turned into a gorgeous summer evening. We were able to take some sunset photos of Joe and Beverly together in front of the inn after the ceremony & then with their families throughout the gardens. Joe and Beverly's cocktail reception was held under the tented pavilion with dancing, a fabulous spread including oysters on the half shell & shrimp cocktail, and of course celebrating with family and friends. After the cake was cut and the toasts were made, the dancing went well into the evening.
Joe and Beverly were such a joy to work with and I'm wishing them many years of happiness. As they traveled throughout Europe on their honeymoon, I sure did enjoy living vicariously through their social media posts and photos! They visited Paris, Amsterdam, and Munich. Perhaps I should offer honeymoon travel photography to my couples too? Just a thought!
