The Meadows at Walnut Cove was the perfect setting for Sam and Anna's romantic fall wedding. Arriving on location, I joined Anna, her bridesmaids, flower girl, and mother in the bridal suite for preparation photos. Haley, my second photographer, headed over to the log cabin where Sam and his groomsmen were getting ready, which is also onsite. Haley spent some time with the guys and got some great shots of them together and then some details throughout. It was so nice having her there to second shoot!
It was such a gorgeous, sunny day but very brisk. Anna and her gals sure were very happy to have the faux fur stoles to wear! After getting hair and makeup done onsite, the gals headed outside with me before the ceremony for photos throughout the property. Its such a scenic venue out in the countryside with a rustic, but romantic feel to it. Anna and Sam chose not to do a first look, or first touch. However the look on his face was priceless when he did see her walk down the aisle for the first time with her dad.
The late afternoon ceremony was held outside on the waterfront deck overlooking the lake and a view of the fall color, which may have even been at peak that weekend. I loved how they had personalized blankets in their wedding colors for the guests to not only use during the ceremony, but to also keep as favors. They added many special touches to their wedding day and this was one of my favorites.
After the ceremony, Haley and I finished up the photos of the families, wedding party, and finally the couple together. The guests were served hot chocolate and cider and warmed themselves up by the upright propane heaters in the covered Pavilion, which was the reception site. Sam and Anna were introduced as Mr. and Mrs. and then went right into their first dance. Anna then danced with her dad, and Sam with his mother. After first dances, everyone was served a fabulous meal. After dinner, the cake was cut, toasts were made, and the dance floor opened up to all of the guests. Herb, the DJ, was fantastic with keeping the party flowing through the evening!
Also onsite is a large stone fire pit, which many gathered around enjoying s'mores. Sam and Anna joined their friends just before their departure. They decided to do a glow-stick sendoff. And a big surprise was that the groomsmen & some of their friends decorated Sam's brand new car, but at least they didn't go completely go overboard. I haven't seen this done in quite some time. It used to be a thing back in the day when your car was completely decorated from top to tires! Sam and Anna were an incredibly sweet couple and great to work with. It was a fun day and I wish them many years of happiness!
