If you are a high school senior or even a junior, or a parent, how will you be handling prom this spring? Will your school even have a prom at all? If not, perhaps plan a small "at home" prom or prom party? The mandate for how many can gather together at once is gradually changing, so always good to check beforehand. If you wanted to keep it on the smaller side, invite your closest friends and/or just your date and perhaps 2-3 other couples, this can be done for sure.
You could plan a party outdoors, at home, for example. It can even be with your best friend, like two mothers did for their daughters, Sara and Adrienne last May of 2020. They set up a small tent and seating area under the tent in the driveway for just the two of them, had it fully decorated with balloons, flowers, and other decor, gold "PROM" balloons floating in the yard, and served individually boxed cupcakes to friends and neighbors who walked by at the end of the driveway, while keeping their distance. They also had a basket on a table with wrapped face masks in it as favors!
Sarah and Adrienne dressed up in their prom dresses and took "formal" pictures with their families and then a few together. Their two families played it safe and had seating in the yard for the adults, so they could also enjoy the festivities. I love how the mothers made it so special for their daughters - such a great and safe idea! Although things are changing, I still think it's wise to play it safe and this is a great way to do it.
This could also be achieved for high school graduations. Even if your school does have a prom and you plan to go, reach out to me to schedule some fun photos beforehand with you and your date and/or friends. We serve all of Greater Greensboro, High Point, Winston-Salem, and the Triad!
