It's not too late to sign up for next week's Macro Photography Workshop, which I'm teaching at The Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden in Kernersville, NC. We will meet Wednesday morning, May 30th & Friday morning, June 1st from 9am to 12pm noon both days. Although it's geared more towards intermediate photographers, I'm happy to accept advanced beginners who have a bit of understanding of how their camera works (shutter speed, f-stops, how your camera functions, etc.)
You'll need a digital SLR camera body (or a digital mirrorless camera body) along with a macro lens (close-up) or a lens that has a macro setting, extension tubes, and/or close-up filters. I've also had a student in the past who relied on utilizing a telephoto lens. So he would be far back from his subject, but zoom out at his longest focal point (such as 200mm) to capture an image such as a dragonfly. Also I highly recommend for macro work - a tripod or a monopod. If you have it, bring an external flash. Some of my students might even have a ring light they'd like to use. Please contact me if you have any questions about what else to bring.
This class is $95.00 and you may sign up via Paul J Ciener Garden's events page on their website or you may sign up here via my website (secure, plus we will not share your info) - MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY CLASS. You should receive a confirmation/receipt once you fill out the form and hit submit.
In addition, I'll also be teaching another class the following week. Learning how to take amazing, more compelling photographs with your smartphone! Those dates are Monday, June 4th and Wednesday, June 6th . This class is $60.00 and you may sign up here - SMARTPHONE PHOTOGRAPHY CLASS. If you can't take any of these classes and know somebody who might want to, please share!
Hope to see you in class!
