Kevin and Jordan recently celebrated their one-year anniversary on November 4th. We met for the first time in April 2022 for their engagement session at Cedar Rock Park in Alamance County. Over the next year and a half, Kevin and Jordan planned for their wedding down to every detail. When their big day was finally here, they sure had a gorgeous fall day for it. We couldn't of asked for better weather!
Their wedding was held at one of my favorite locations, The Meadows at Walnut Cove in Stokes County, just northwest of Greensboro. This venue is rustic, but also romantic. Located on 32 acres, it's not only private but very scenic with views of the Sauratown Mountains. Hanging Rock State Park is just a few miles north of the venue. The ceremony deck overlooks a spring-fed pond and the reception site is a custom built Timber Frame Pavilion.
So that I could document the getting ready photos of Jordan and her gals in the bride's quarters and then joining Kevin and his groomsmen in the groom's cabin, I arrived a couple of hours before the ceremony. We were able to get some of the group photos of the men ahead of time, plus I was able to get all of the detail shots and overviews of the venue before the guests started to arrive.
Kevin and Jordan decided not to do a first look, but to see one another for the first time as she made her way down to the ceremony site with her dad. The look on Kevin's face was so full of love and joy. And it was so special that their young son was a big part of their wedding day too, as he was their ring bearer. One of their nieces was the flower girl and she was not camera shy at all! Both of the children were such sweethearts and so well behaved throughout the entire day.
Immediately following the ceremony, there was a cocktail hour with heavy hors d'oeuvres served along with wine, beer, and a signature cocktail to the guests while we finished up the photographs of the families, wedding party, and finally Kevin and Jordan just in time for that gorgeous golden light as the sun started to set. Some of my favorites of them are on the pavilion during this time, but I also love the upper pathway that leads back to the covered bridge and to the pavilion.
After introductions as the new Mr. and Mrs. Willard, the newlyweds went into their first dance and then a buffet dinner was served. After dinner, the toasts were made, then the dance floor was opened up along with "photobooth" fun. The couple utilized their greenery signage for their backdrop, so that their friends and family could take photos with their cameras and phones too with some added props!
This was followed the bouquet toss, cake cutting, more dancing, and finally the shoe game, which is always entertaining! After one last dance together, with their son joining in, a sparkler exit for the newlyweds was the perfect ending to a wonderful day!
