It's crazy to think that this time last week, we had a little bit of snow on the ground. It was pretty, however I'm so looking forward to spring. And to our spring weddings! Although I'm now looking ahead, Dylan and Kayela's wedding has me looking back to almost a year ago. Perhaps their wedding will give you a little inspiration, if you happen to be planning a spring wedding too?
Dylan and Kayela chose to have a smaller, more intimate gathering of family and really close friends in a beautiful location, on a gorgeous day! We started off with Kayela getting ready in the venue's bridal suite and Dylan in the groom's log cabin, which are just far enough apart so no chances of a couple seeing one another by accident. It was very important to Dylan that he wait to see his bride at the ceremony arch, which I think is just the sweetest. Although these two chose not to see one another before the ceremony, Kayela did do a first look with her dad. Which I might add, always makes me a bit teary-eyed!
The late afternoon ceremony took place on the ceremony deck overlooking a pristine spring-fed pond. It's one of the best views for a ceremony around. After vows and rings were exchanged, we took a moment for family photos and then a little alone time for a couple's session with just Dylan and Kayela. The guests made their way up to The Pavilion for a cocktail hour, before the newlyweds were introduced as husband and wife at the beginning of their reception. We also later walked back down to the edge of the pond for a pre-sunset session. These were some of my favorites from the day. All couples should plan to do this, if having an evening wedding (keep in mind the time of year, of course).
Following intros and first dances, a delicious meal was served, then the wedding cake was cut with toasts following. Alex, the DJ, kept the party going throughout the evening with dancing, bouquet and garter tosses, and a sparkler send-off. It was such a fun evening and one of the sweetest couples! They were so down-to-earth, genuine, and easygoing. What a dream Dylan and Kayela were from day one!
