If you are planning a wedding, deciding on a venue is typically the first thing to consider, after choosing a wedding date of course. We are here to help you with a handful of suggestions for venues located in the Greater Greensboro area.
There are several things to consider first before making that final decision however. Your budget, the location, and how many guests you plan to invite are just a few things you'll need to think about beforehand. Your guest experience is always important too - is it close to hotels? Will they have to travel far to and from? Other things to think about are the time of year, time of day, and whether or not they offer an indoor space or shelter, such as an area which could be tented in the event of inclement weather.
Also how much privacy does the venue offer? Is your wedding the only event taking place that day at the venue? Another thing to ask about is what's included? Do they offer all-inclusive options? Can you bring in an outside caterer? Ask about rental services such as tables, chairs, linens, and more. If you plan to serve wine, beer, and/or cocktails at your reception, be sure to find out what this entails.
Does the venue have beautiful scenery? Are there several choices where you can have your ceremony, cocktail hour, and/or reception area? If much of it is outdoors, the time of day can play into this too. Mid-day lighting can be very harsh outdoors for wedding photographs and also if in the warmer months, too hot for your guests. With so many choices, its always best to try and visit at least 3 venues. We strongly recommend a wedding planner to help you make all these hard decisions and to purchase wedding insurance. A professional planner can help you with this.
To help you get started listed below are a few of our favorite venues. Although several are within the city limits of Greensboro, if you are willing to travel a little farther out, I'm recommending several venues within about 20-45 minutes of the city.
Here goes....happy planning! Oh and once you choose your date and the venue, we'd love to hear from you!

The Proximity Hotel is in a great Greensboro location! They are the only "green hotel" in the city, so if this is important to you this is your place. Modern and beautiful in every sense and so many unique locations for photos too. They offer several choices for your ceremony and/or reception, the food is amazing, and your guests can stay there too. They also have a honeymoon suite which you can get ready in and then you & your beloved can enjoy the night of your wedding there too!
The Weir-Jordan House is super close to downtown Greensboro and they offer in-house catering via Savory Street Catering. They have indoor space or you can even have part or all of your wedding outside on the front lawn. There's also a place upstairs for the couple to get ready together or separately and the upstairs veranda makes a great place for a first look, should you decide to do one!
The Colonnade at Revolution Mills is a unique space in a restored historic textiles mill, which has tall ceilings, gorgeous hardwood floors, and wrought iron railings. They have indoor and outdoor spaces and in-house catering with Pepper Moon Catering. Pictured below is the private outdoor space where many couples have their ceremony. They also have space indoors for a ceremony and of course for your reception too! In addition you can get ready at the venue with a bridal suite separated from where the men get ready. Many locations indoors and out for unique photo ops too!
You don't have to be a member at Starmount Forest Country Club in order to have your wedding there! Its classic, beautiful, and they have so many choices to make your day special. It's also in a great location within the Greensboro city limits, making it close to hotels, restaurants, and more. In-house event planners can help you plan everything from layout of the room, to choosing your menu, and be present the day of your wedding to make sure everything goes smoothly. In addition to a gorgeous ballroom and other choices indoors, they also have an outdoor patio overlooking the 10th green on the golf course.
You can't go wrong by choosing the O.Henry Hotel for your wedding! You and your guests can stay at the hotel for your wedding weekend and enjoy afternoon tea and then jazz in the evenings. There's a fabulous restaurant onsite too, Green Valley Grill. Its truly a beautiful and classic hotel in the heart of Greensboro, with so many amenities. You have several choices of rooms/event spaces throughout the hotel. Having your wedding there will not disappoint!
Cadillac Service Garage is relatively "new" to the scene, but is quite popular for weddings. It's also in a really great location just a few blocks from downtown Greensboro. Beautifully restored & lots of space including a gorgeous bridal suite for getting ready in and a place for the men too! Also a large outdoor courtyard & patio for ceremonies, cocktails, and s'mores late in the night. They have a front room, which is also the perfect space for your cocktail hour, a 2nd level bar, and the large main room for your reception (which is pictured below - shot from upstairs looking down). Its truly unique and a must see! Schedule your appointment with them soon, as they book dates quickly!
And if you are willing to travel a little outside the Greensboro city limits, below are some really fantastic choices too. Starting at the top left, then to the top right, bottom left, and finally bottom right, we have -
The Burke Manor Inn is located in the sweet little town of Gibsonville, about a 30 minute drive from Greensboro. I love this early 1900's historic inn and the innkeepers are fabulous too! They have indoor and outdoor spaces for ceremonies and receptions, including a large tented pavilion. In addition they have 8 guest rooms including a honeymoon suite in a separate cottage, a swimming pool, and a restaurant on location. They offer options for small intimate weddings & elopements and of course for larger weddings with up to 350 guests. The food is amazing too!
Summerfield Farms is absolutely gorgeous and is about a 20 minute drive from downtown Greensboro, in the beautiful countryside of Summerfield. This venue offers several choices for ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception and locations on-site to get ready. It's a must see! Schedule your visit to see this place. They often have events going on throughout the year at this working farm, so be sure to try and catch one of those too and/or also visit The Market on the farm.
The Meadows at Walnut Cove is a little bit farther out, however worth the drive! Rustic, romantic, and private, this venue has a beautiful location overlooking a pond for the ceremony. There's a covered pavilion for your reception or a backup plan for your ceremony too, in case of inclement weather. There's also a bridal suite for the bride and women to get ready in and a separate restored tobacco barn for the groom and the men on the property. This venue offers all-inclusive packages or you may book the venue separately and choose from a list of preferred vendors or you may choose your own.
Adaumont Farm is yet another fabulous choice for your wedding and about a 30 minute drive from Greensboro and is near the town of Trinity. The rolling hills of this farm make for some gorgeous photographs! They have so many locations for photo ops, a bridal suite for the women, and the Hunting Lodge for the men. Most couples choose to have their ceremony down by the water at the Pergola (which is pictured below), and a large barn for your reception, which is quite elegant and beautifully decorated throughout.
Last, but not least a few others located near Greensboro in the Greater NC Triad, that aren't pictured are Paul J Ciener Botanical Garden, The Gardens at Gary Gables, Oakhaven Farm, The Longhouse, Chateau Vie, The JH Adams Inn, Winmock, and Bella Collina to name just a few! All of these venues are worth the drive from Greensboro :)
