Josh and Amanda's wedding was nothing short of amazing! These two have a love of the great outdoors and JOLO Winery & Vineyards was the perfect location for their celebration. Arriving at the venue, I joined Amanda and her bridesmaids in the Newlywed Chateau. Its a charming cottage located onsite and it was the perfect place for them to get ready. Anna, my second photographer joined Josh and the groomsmen in downtown Mount Airy. These made for some super fun photos! We also of course photographed the wedding party at the vineyard as well, since its so incredibly gorgeous there.
With Josh and Amanda traveling from the Raleigh area and many of their family and friends also from afar, it was somewhat of a destination wedding for everyone. That area of North Carolina is so beautiful and with the town of Mount Airy, Pilot Mountain State Park, and several other vineyards close by, it offered guests many things to do in the area. As for JOLO, they have some of the best views, really fabulous wines, an onsite restaurant + catering, and of course a tasting room.
The ceremony was held outdoors in front of the gazebo which was decorated with gorgeous flowers. But what really was outstanding was the view - a pristine lake, the vineyards, rolling hills, and a view of the knob of Pilot Mountain off in the distance. Pilot Mountain State Park is where they had their engagement session last fall, so this all played in together perfectly. Josh and Amanda chose not to do a first look, and stayed with tradition by him seeing her for the first time at the beginning of the ceremony. The look on Josh's face was so incredibly sweet and heartfelt as she made her way up the aisle with her dad. She looked absolutely stunning and I have to say that her wedding dress was one of my all-time favorites. Josh looked so handsome in his grey suit with teal tie, which matched the bridesmaids gowns.
After the ceremony, there was a cocktail hour out on the patio while we finished up the family and wedding party photos. The reception was held in the covered pavilion and with everyone seated, the wedding party was introduced, with Josh and Amanda going into their first dance. A fabulous meal was served and I have to say, the chefs at JOLO really outdid themselves. Josh and Amanda are both vegetarians and the food was amazing! After dinner, the the toasts were made and Josh and Amanda cut their gorgeous cake. Amanda then joined her dad out on the dance floor, followed by Josh and his mother. Then the dance floor opened up to all of the guests and good time was had by all! As the evening was coming to an end, Amanda threw the bouquet to all of the single women and one lucky gal caught it! There's always so much excitement during this popular wedding tradition.
Josh and Amanda departed that evening in a sparkler send-off and these are truly some of my favorite photos from the day! It was such a fun wedding, a fabulous couple, and in a gorgeous location! With them both having a love of nature and the mountains in particular, I think it's fantastic that they had guests write sentiments on cut geodes for them to read later and then they also could take their own geode home with them as favors too.
