Although it's been almost a year since Michael & Ashley's gorgeous wedding, it'll be a day to remember! Adaumont Farm is one of my favorite local venues to photograph a wedding or an event. Not only is management professional, the property is amazing! With rolling hills, miles of white fences surrounding horse pastures, a beautiful oak tree with swing, a pristine lake, covered bridge, and of course the large barn, there are so many locations for amazing photographs! These two had a beautiful day with lots of sunshine, clear skies, and cooler temps for their early fall celebration.
My second photographer, Anna & I arrived several hours before their early evening ceremony. I joined Ashley and her bridesmaids in the bridal suite for preparation photos and Anna joined Michael and the guys at the Hunting Lodge, which is also on the property. They are spread out just far enough away so that there isn't an accidental siting of the groom seeing the bride and vise versa. These two chose not to do a first look, however we photographed as many of then men together prior and the women too separately.
The outdoor ceremony was held down at the Pergola overlooking the lake. Ashley arrived with her dad in a horse-drawn carriage. The look on Michael's face was priceless when he saw his bride for the first time - he had to hold back tears. She looked stunning in her blush wedding gown. He looked pretty handsome too in his tux, cowboy hat, and black leather cowboy boots. After they exchanged vows the newlyweds took a ride in the carriage to spend some alone time together before photographs.
While we were photographing the last of the families and wedding party, guests enjoyed cocktails outside on the veranda at the barn. The veranda is spacious enough to set up a bar and a place to serve hors d'oeuvres. With everyone seated at their tables inside the barn, the wedding party was introduced followed by Michael and Ashley making their grand entrance.
Once the reception was under way and dinner was served, Michael & Ashley had their first dance. Followed by Ashley and her father & then Michael and his mother. Then they cut the cake and fed one another a piece without getting too crazy with it - just a little icing on one another's noses! As the cake was being served to the guests, the toasts were made with lots of laughter! Some of the stories you hear during the toasts are the best.
Then the DJ made an announcement that everyone needed to go outside for a surprise. Just over the lake, there was a spectacular fireworks display for everyone to enjoy. Even I was surprised by it! It was pretty special. Everyone returned to the barn afterwards for more dancing and fun well into the night. It was a pleasure working with this wonderful couple and I wish them many years of happiness. Last I heard, they are going to be my new neighbors as they are building their home close-by. Now that's pretty awesome!
